First distinguish a Mod failing to load from a Mod loading without a visible interface. Not every event handler draws UI, and UI support can differ by host surface. Use the official troubleshooting guide for current diagnostics.
Check the basics
- Confirm you are running a Claude Code version with Mods enabled by default (CLI 2.1.287 or later), then check the individual author's minimum version, if one is stated.
- Verify that the plugin and marketplace names match the author's README and that you ran commands in the intended terminal or interactive session.
- Check that the plugin is installed and enabled using current plugin management documentation.
- Restart or reload as the author's instructions require, then reproduce the specific event the Mod handles.
- If the behavior depends on another tool, check that dependency separately. For example, cc-pr-tracker's author asks for an authenticated GitHub CLI.
If there is no interface
A missing pane is not proof that the hook never loaded. Compare the environment with official interface support guidance. Our directory shows author-claimed and locally tested surfaces separately; Unknown means we have not verified them.
Report a reproducible issue
Capture the Claude Code version, environment, plugin version, command context, and a minimal reproduction without posting tokens or private project data. Use the author's repository issue tracker for a project issue; for an error in this directory, use Submit and identify the source link that is wrong. Static source review is not an installation test or a security audit.
